This was a very interesting book from the very beginning. It's got some really great prose, and the story is unbelievably fascinating and compelling despite its tried-and-true nature. Unfortunately, the format is a major problem, which usually isn't the case for a novel-in-verse. My eyes kept getting distracted from the major text for the little bold words in the center of the diamonds, which were a little problematic for me to begin with. But that's just me. Aside from that, this is a really interesting and at times very original book that is worth a read... or two.
